Terms of Service
Last updated: June 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Nikolas (“Nikolas”, the “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), an AI chief-of-staff application for Slack. By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the organization you represent. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Nikolas is a software assistant that works inside your Slack workspace to track commitments, draft messages in your company’s voice, produce documents, run research, send follow-ups, and connect to tools you authorize (such as Notion, Linear, Asana, Jira, and Confluence). The Service uses third-party AI models to generate its output. We continuously improve the Service and may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the Slack workspace you connect, for the people you allow to use Nikolas, and for keeping your access secure. You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
3. Free trial, subscription, and billing
Nikolas is offered on a subscription basis with a free trial. Unless stated otherwise on our pricing page, the trial lasts 7 days and requires no charge during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription begins and your payment method is charged the then-current price. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; see our Refund Policy for details on cancellations and refunds.
Payments are processed by our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates). Paddle handles the order, billing, invoicing, and applicable taxes, and their buyer terms also apply to your purchase. We never see or store your full card details. Prices may change; we will give reasonable notice before a change affects your renewal.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or infringing;
- attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service to send spam, mass unsolicited messages, or content that violates third-party rights or platform rules (including Slack’s);
- upload data you do not have the right to share, or use the Service to process sensitive data it is not designed for;
- resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
We may suspend or limit access if use threatens the security, stability, or lawful operation of the Service, or breaches these Terms.
5. Your data and content
You retain ownership of your data and the content you and your team create. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to operate and provide the Service. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and permissions needed for the data Nikolas accesses, including content from connected tools.
6. Third-party services
The Service works with third-party platforms (such as Slack, Notion, Linear, Asana, Atlassian, and AI providers). Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, changes, or actions. When you connect a tool, you authorize Nikolas to access it within the permissions you grant, and you can disconnect at any time.
7. AI-generated output
Nikolas uses AI to generate drafts, summaries, documents, and suggestions. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on or acting on it, especially anything sent outside your workspace. Nikolas does not provide legal, financial, tax, medical, or other professional advice.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and brand, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you beyond the limited right to use the Service while your subscription is active.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required to protect the Service or comply with law. When your subscription ends, your access ends, and your workspace data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy (uninstalling Nikolas from Slack removes its memory for your workspace).
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts located in India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
